WordPress Fans: Thank your Plugins Authors

Thank YouWordPress Plugins Authors are the driving force that makes WordPress better by the day: They spend countless hours writing code, debugging and responding to our nagging requests for improvements on their plugins ; and if you ever tried to write a few lines in PHP or  modify what they did;  you would have an idea how that feels like. All of that so we can blog better, have a knock-out blogs and in general have an easier way to use WordPress.

While a few of them use their plugins to make money (and nothing is wrong with that, it is only fair to get paid for your efforts) the majority of them write them for the love of code and for the challenge of solving  problems they or some of us encountered.

Our part consist mainly of THANKING them for their contributions, and SUPPORTING them in a few simple ways:

  • Donate if you can: your donation (no matter how small it is) gives them a token of appreciation that will help them keep on writing.
  • Write a review about their plugin: They will need your support to spread the word about their work. As I surf the web I find it hard to find decent reviews about WordPress plugins, you can change that!
  • Rate their plugin: One of the major factors that encourages WordPress bloggers to try any plugin is those little stars next to the plugin description;  if it is a really good plugin, it deserves more of them.
  • Visit their Home Page and post your comments: Most if not all of the plugins authors are bloggers themselvs, they need traffic just like me and you do, your comments or questions or even a Thank you note is another hit that counts.

Without those authors and their wonderful pieces of code; we will be digging through forums and chasing after plugins like users of other blogging platforms: Typo or B2 or … They did their part, now show them some love; go on and do yours!
