Peter’s Collaboration E-mails

“Enhance the “Submit for Review” feature for Contributor users. This plugin enables automatic e-mails to the relevant users at the different post status transitions: when posts are pending; when they are approved or scheduled; and when their statuses are changed from “pending” back to “draft“.

Features:

  • When a Contributor user submits an article for review: The plugin e-mails a list of approvers of your choice, letting them know that there is a post ready for review, and giving them a link to edit the post.
  • When a post is approved: The original Contributor user gets an e-mail saying that their post has been approved and who it was approved by. If the post was directly published, the author is given a link to read the post as the whole world sees it. If the post is scheduled to be published, the author is informed of the time that their post will go live. When the post does go live, the author will get another e-mail informing him / her of that.
  • When a post’s status is changed back to “draft” from “pending”: The original Contributor user gets an e-mail saying that their post has been reverted back to a draft, along with a link to edit and re-submit the post.
  • When used with Peter’s Post Notes on WordPress 2.7 and higher, users can leave notes to accompany the e-mails for each step in the workflow…”

These are all great hints. Since you are the Sensei of blogging and its propriety, I have a question you may want to address at some point in the future. What does one do when someone else uses your domain name, such as mine of AskCherlock, in comments on blogs but the comment is not from me. The IP address is not mine, nor is the email. How do we protect from that?

      Thank you Askcherlock,
As for using (abusing) your domain name to post comments on blog; it depends on those comments: Are they bad or good!
If a simpleton wants to give you free links with good comments…but if they are bad ones; I would post a comment on the very same blog to clear my name, or contact the blog owner and complain, the law is gray in this area and the only sure ways you can protect your domain name form abuse is Trademark it or Incorrporate it…your blog is great and growing and they are simply taking a shot at you.

Thanks for the advice, Topmaker. I thought since we purchased the domain name, it was protected. I will need to look into the trademark issue. Actually, the person using my name is doing so to harass another blogger who is smart enough to recognize it is not coming from my IP address. He then emails me to be certain the comment was not from me. Lots going on in the ‘shpere!
