WordPress Meets Marketing:Opt-In Form Plugins

Email marketing is one of the most popular and effective ways to build a list and market to people. An opt-in list is essentially a list of emails that you can send your marketing materials to.  Opt-in (Option In) means that you are asking people for permission to market to them by having them fill out that form; and Double Opt-In means that your subscribers have to confirm their subscription to your Newsletter to eliminate any SPAM concerns.

To build that list; you would need an Opt-In Form to post on your site:  Your visitors see it, fill their information if they liked what they saw and you would have the beginning of a mailing list.

The following Plugins provide you with a simple way to insert an Opt-In Form in the sidebar of your WordPress blog as a widget and without changing a single line of code:

AWeber Integration

Author Description

This plugin provides a simple way to add one or more AWeber form(s) to your sidebar and optionally enable AWeber email web analytics for your website. It gives you access to a new “AWeber Mailing List” sidebar widget, that lets you enter the subscription form’s details. These details are used to automatically display your AWeber email subscription form.

Home Page

While all of those plugins provide you with a way to post Opt-In Form on your sidebar, none of them will actually MAIL your Newsletter to your list or handle the Back-end management tasks, you still need to pay for EMail Marketing Service such as AWeber or Constant Contact  to do that.

The only one that gives you Free Auto Responder Service is GWA AutoResponder,  needless to say I recommend it and use it myself.

I’ve been looking (thats how I landed here) to put an optin form below my blog posts. At the moment I have a new Aweber form in my sidebar, but it takes up a lot of space.

I have seen blogs with their form at the bottom of their posts.

Do you know if that is a plugin? I have too many posts on my blog to paste the code into each one!

      Hello Jennifer,

I took a look at your Opt-in placement and it is good as it is, you can change the graphics to make it smaller for less space,
If you want to add an Opt-in form to some of your posts; try Add Signature Plugin, and use the short code for select posts. You can use Aweber code in the input box.

      You are welcome Jennifer,
Try Headspace plugin; it has “More text” where you can put any extras you want or you can use any plugin you need on any post through “Add Plugin” .
I agree with you though; Magazine themes are tricky!
